Natural Mica Washers

Natural mica washers have excellent dielectric strength, and are resistant to high voltage without puncturing. Typical specifications are greater than 1,000 volts per millimeter of thickness. Mica provides a high factor of safety with uniform dielectric constant, low power loss, high electrical resistivity and low-temperature coefficient. It has good resistance to arcing and electrical erosion and is permeable to microwaves.

Natural mica washers punched to a thickness up to .015”. Use for applications where an inexpensive thermal or electrical barrier is required such as mounting of a diode to a heat sink.  For natural mica beyond the thicknesses of block mica, washers are punched, built-up and edge bonded – for those needs please see built-up mica washers.
