Mica Transistor Shields
In thin layers mica offers high dielectric resistance to electron flow and tolerates high heat, but is a good conductor to dump heat from the xistor or the diode to prevent it from suffering heat damage and a shortened life. Mica has excellent dielectric strength, or the ability to withstand high voltage without puncturing. Typical specifications are greater than 1,000 volts per millimeter. It has good resistance to arcing and electrical erosion and is permeable to microwaves.
For electrical and thermal insulation these Mica Shields are typically used in the mounting of diodes or transistors to heat sinks. We carry many patterns and shapes and the whole Motorola and RCA catalog for mica insulators with over 600 die templates
All insulators meet ASTM D-351 and Federal specification HHI-536.
