Silicone Mica Paper Products

Rigid

Rigid heater mica plates consist of approximately 90% muscovite, alternatively Phlogopite mica, impregnated with 10% high temperature resistant silicone resin. It is used as supporting insulation for resistance wire heating elements in electric toasters, hair dryers, strip heaters, baseboard heaters and for gaskets and in other appliances and applications where excellent resistance to moisture and thermal mechanical and electrical properties are required. Stocked in sheets 36” x 36” up to 39.37” x 47.24” (1000mm x 1200mm), 1000mm x 2400mm sheets available special order.

Thick Mica plate, 2.0mm up to 50.8mm, for high-performance thermal and electrical insulation is designed for the electromechanical and thermo-mechanical applications. It is used as a replacement for asbestos and other insulating boards for a variety of applications.

Flexible

Used as a flexible, high temperature and electrical insulator or gasket material. Stocked in sheets 36” x 36” up to 39.37” x 47.24” (1000mm x 1200mm), 1000mm x 2400mm sheets available special order.

Epoxy Mica Paper Products

As segment mica in commutators and miscellaneous parts such as washers and spacers.

Moldable

For Compression Molding V-rings, Shaped Angle Parts or Shaped Channel parts for coil insulation.

Composites Mica Sheets

Reinforced mica paper with varnished glass adds toughness and strength to the mica paper. Excellent for applications such as slot lining or coil wraps. Other combinations with plain glass or Mylar film on one or both sides are available. Produced in thicknesses .010” up to .060”.

Mica Paper Rolls

High Temp Phlogopite mica on rolls as an asbestos replacement for gasket material or induction furnace lining. Below are stock sizes. Other combinations or length or width are available special order.

Asheville-Schoonmaker offers complete fabrication of finished parts to customer prints. We offer washers, element cards, spacers or strips from all our mica paper products.

Mica Tubes

Mica tubes for rod insulation in grid banks and resistors are available up to 36”. Kraft paper wrapper is an option. Tubes can also be cut to a pre-determined size.

Inorganic tubes available to 12” or cut to size bushings for tubular heater terminal insulation. This product can also be made into rectangular shapes for core insulation.
