Mica Splittings

Our mica splitting plate products are produced to meet NEMA standards FI-1 for Electrical Manufactured Mica.

Mica molding plate is a hot formable material commonly used to manufacture commutator V-rings, traction motor end bells and cones.

Sheet sizes up to 36” x 36” with a thickness range or .010” to .060”.

Mica Segment plate is fully cured material commonly used to punch or fabricate commutator segments for DC motors. Also can be used to fabricate washers and spacers.

Sheet sizes up to 36” x 36” for Shellac and 25” x 36” for AV. Larger sheets of AV available special order. Thickness range of .010” to .060” for Shellac and .025” to .060” for AV. Other thicknesses available special order. Contact our Sales department for a quote.

Mica Flex plate is a flexible electrical insulation sheet composed of mica splittings bonded with a high temperature resin. It offers flexibility and formability without the use of heat. Can be used as insulation in field coils, transformer phase insulation, coil wrappers and slot insulation.

Sheets available up to 36” x 36” with a thickness range of .010” to .060”.

Composites. Reinforced mica paper with varnished glass adds toughness and strength to the mica plate. Excellent for applications such as slot lining or coil wraps. Other combinations with plain glass or Mylar film on one or both sides are available. Contact our Sales Department.
